So, here I thought I'd finally have gotten over all the little snags and snares that my and my family's health has been throwing at me recently and then the weather goes crazy.
I mean, it's not even summer yet but for the last few days, we've had temps of around the 40 degrees C. Sweltering, I tell you. Normally we have a breeze up here but on Saturday the air didn't move at all. The house was so hot. We were all cranky, especially the baby who also now has a heat rash. Sunday we spent a few hours at the 9pin bowling for two of my boys' birthday party. I was glad I had booked the place, originally though, cause the weather forecast was for downpours. At any rate, it was airconditioned and very nice there. Afterwards we went to the beach where there was a very strong breeze. Of course, Richard, who's got an ear infection and is meant to keep his ear dry, managed to get it soaked really well ...
At any rate, yesterday, we had a strong breeze and the temps all of a sudden plummeted to the low 20s. Of course that was pleasant. And it was also pleasant to sleep properly after having spent the last few nights sweating even without any covers and sheets. But now the baby has the sniffles, I've got a killer-sore-throat and 2 of the other boys are coughing *headdesk*
Only 3 weeks ago we had flooding in the area. The rest of the state, well 78% of it, is drought declared. Figure that ... Is it just me or is the weather going nuts???
Anyway ... I've done a bit of sketching but then got sidetracked again by some weaving which I haven't done for a while and the realisation that my boys are growing like weeds. All three of them need new medieval garb sewn before we enter the season again in March and baby of course needs some 12th century clothing too. At least I only need to adjust my stuff to fit my non-pregnant body again. That's easy.
But it looks like any serious drawing will have to wait ...
